How to Use ThinLine Radio on Desktop
Use these steps to create an account and listen to the
Tri-State Scanner Network on ThinLine Radio from a desktop or laptop.
What is ThinLine Radio?
ScannerGrid uses ThinLine Radio — a modern scanner platform built on the Rdio
Scanner backend by ThinLine Dynamic Solutions. It lets you listen in near real-time, pick specific systems and
talkgroups, replay recent traffic, and (with a subscription) set up alerts for key events.
Sign Up (Desktop Web)
- Open a web browser on your computer.
-
Go to:
https://thinline.tnscanner.com
-
Click Sign Up to create your account.
If you already have an account, click Log In.

Check your email for a verification message and click the verification link.
Tip: If you don’t see it, check your spam/junk folder.
-
After verifying your email, log in using your email and password.
Start Listening
After logging in, you’ll land on the main ThinLine Radio screen. By default, all available channels for your
subscription are enabled. Click Live Feed to start listening.
Normal delay: A short delay is expected for processing and safety.
Choose Channels
While the live feed is running, click Channel Select in the bottom-right.
Channels are grouped by system or category.
- Enable / Disable toggles an entire group.
- Expand a group to select individual categories or channels.
- Click the ⭐ to add a channel to Favorites.
- Green = enabled, red = disabled.
Playback Controls
These controls help you manage what you hear while monitoring live traffic:
- Pause — pause playback (traffic can still queue)
- Replay Last — replay the most recent transmission
- Skip Next — skip the next transmission in the queue
- Avoid Talkgroup — temporarily avoid the last talkgroup
- Add Favorite — save the last talkgroup to Favorites
- Hold System — lock playback to the current system
- Hold Talkgroup — lock playback to the current talkgroup only
Playback Past Traffic
Click Playback to listen to previously recorded traffic. Choose a system, then select a talkgroup
to replay audio.
Alerts
The Alerts section lets you configure notifications such as tone-outs or keyword-based alerts
(subscription required).
Important: Alerts are still evolving and may change. Always verify alerts by listening to audio and
confirming with official sources.
Note: An active subscription is required to access scanner content.
Manage your subscription on the
Subscription Page.
